[edit]

I guess its time to update the old numbers of the page, especially GDP which is currently shown as $280 billion, but the wiki page for "Economy of Tamil Nadu" says its $378 billion Economy of Tamil Nadu [1]https://prsindia.org/budgets/states/tamil-nadu-budget-analysis-2022-23. Also related numbers could be updated. Racinghero007 (talk) 18:16, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

where it talks about temples having tanks, please add a link to Temple_tank 173.222.1.134 (talk) 18:50, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

It would go here, in the architecture section: "Besides these, a South Indian temple usually has a tank called the kalyani or pushkarni." 173.222.1.134 (talk) 18:51, 13 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Per capita income

[edit]

The new per capita income added is from List of Indian states and union territories by GDP per capita. The source is https://esankhyiki.mospi.gov.in/catalogue-main/catalogue/tableview/66d6b4e7cd607200938d913e which is government data. SKAG123 (talk) 21:50, 24 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@SKAG123 The link provides NSDP per capita at constant prices and not at current prices. Request you to verify the citation and hence the data before you add the it to other pages. Also, it is better to keep it to common number system (trillions) as per MOS:NUMERAL. M2 (talk) 04:43, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The data at constant prices is used in all other articles about Indian states. If we are consistent this article about Tamil Nadu should also use the same data. SKAG123 (talk) 04:48, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
GDP at constant price is a relative term as the price is calculated with respect to a base year. I presume that the number you had mentioned indicates the per capita NSDP for 2023-24 estimated against the base year of 2022-23. This number does not make much sense as it is quoted along with the nominal GSDP at current prices for 2023-24 and is not mentioned explicitly as such.
The base article you had referenced as in the List of Indian states and union territories by GDP per capita, the mentioned number is per capita NSDP at current prices as well. The other articles on Indian states such as Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh as well use the NSDP per capita at current prices (albeit for varying financial years) and not constant prices. May I know which other articles you are referring to. M2 (talk) 06:45, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry if other articles are at current price, then this article should also follow the same format.
I think the source used for List of Indian states and union territories by GDP per capita should be the source for all articles about Indian states for consistency SKAG123 (talk) 20:04, 25 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
